About Us

April's Garden is Durango's award winning florist and gift shop located at 2075 Main Avenue. We are locally owned and operated by Amy and Dave Long along with their creative and accomplished team of designers and delivery crew who are the friendly faces that deliver your flowers.

In 2008, we combined the best parts of the two top flower shops in Durango, April's Garden and Schluter Floral ~ Est.1885. The merger brought together great gifts and expert flower design under one roof as we relocated to Main & 21st Street in Uptown Durango. We're very excited about combining our two companies because we now offer you even more convenience, value and service, along with the most exquisite floral design available.

Several of our talented designers have been recognized in statewide design competitions and in national publications for floral design. High quality design is a trademark of April's Garden. Our floral artists participate in design training and competitions whenever possible to make sure we're at the top of our game and ahead of the curve.

Our Flowers

We strive to provide sustainably grown flowers year round from domestic growers, with our primary supplier providing Colorado grown flowers all year, in addition to sourcing exotic flowers from around the world as they are seasonally available. We feature locally grown flowers from James Ranch, Blue Lake Ranch and other local gardeners as they are seasonally available. Flowers arrive throughout the week to ensure optimal freshness and quality.

Commitment to Community & the Environment

April's Garden is proud to be a founding member of Local First (http://local-first.org/) and we support local artists, local independent businesses and the community through regular donations to local non-profit organizations. Since 2007 we have purchased 100% renewable energy through LPEA (http://www.lpea.coop/green_power/greenpower_commercial.htm). We make every effort towards sustainability in our business operations.

Store Hours

Our shop is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. We are closed on Sundays.

To help assure on-time delivery during the busy holiday season, place your order at least 1 day prior to the following major holidays: Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Easter, Administrative Professionals Week, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Independence Day and Labor Day.

Our shop will always be closed on the following holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Easter, Father's Day, Independence Day and Labor Day.

Payment Options

Areas Served Durango, Bayfield, Hesperus and Ignacio. We deliver twice daily to Mercy Regional Medical Center. Other facilities we serve: Animas Surgical Center, Hood Mortuary, Four Corners Health Care, Sunshine Gardens and more. Please call with questions.
